Allendale is considered by many to be the finest non-waterfront area of St. Petersburg. This neighborhood is noted for its high ground, stately old oak trees, serpentine brick streets, large estate homes built in the 1920s and 1930s, and Allendale Park. The neighborhood is mostly residential with one commercial operation and two churches.
